Our client is seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to manage and maintain accurate financial records. The role includes ensuring compliance with accounting standards and supporting the finance department with various financial tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts.
- Process payroll accounting entries.
- Prepare and submit VAT returns.
- Review and complete bank reconciliations.
- Manage intercompany loan schedules.
- Handle accruals, deferrals, prepaid expenses, and provisions.
- Prepare and process journal entries.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
- Ensure financial records are accurate and well-organized.
- Comply with relevant accounting and tax regulations.
- Perform ad hoc financial tasks as required.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2-5 years of bookkeeping experience.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles.
- Proficient in accounting software (Business Central preferred).
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage time effectively and work independently or in a team.
Desired Skills:
- Experience in the logistics and distribution industry (beneficial but not required).
- SARS eFiling experience is an advantage.
